Clutch or power wheelie, hmm....
Do whatever allows you to feel in control the most. Most people say that's clutch wheelies because they're consistent if your movements and control are consistent, whereas bigger, more powerful bikes have little room for error when their powering up through the powerband during a power wheelie. This leads to my main point...clutch wheelies don't require as much power, and most view that as a good thing. If you're going to play with fire, play with very small fires and build your way up. In x gear going x speed, drop the clutch at x RPMs, and see what happens. Like I said, start small, 1st gear lower speeds. Those will be harder to balance when you get them up but if you can't do one and keep it in control in 1st gear speeds you shouldn't be trying it at 2nd gear speeds, etc. Power wheelies are all or nothing and before you know it you unleashed the beast at the worst possible moment when your right foot slipped off the peg..! The worst that'll happen with a clutch wheelie is you'll start too big and not be prepared. Better to loop it (wheelie till you fall off) going 10 MPH than 30 MPH.
When we meet I'll show anyone what works for me.
