I've been wanting to try to do that route for long a time. I've been a ways up that trail from the Rampart side in a truck and camped, but never over the top into Roxborough.

This might be possible from the rampart side, not sure about the roxborough side... It's gated.

Ya, the Roxburough side is gated (a guard shack at the entrance to the neighborhood if I remember correctly). I would love to explore the possibilities from the Hwy 67 side however. I believe the forrest road takes off just North of the main Rampart Range entrance. I don't know how far North the trail is open but Googel Earth shows a road and or trail to very near the Roxburough area. Also, very old forrest service maps show the Rampart Range road extending all the way North through what is now the Roxburogh State Park (which does not allow motor vehical access to the old road).

Beware the man who rides only one motorcycle, he's probably pretty good at it.
