50/50 tire set for sale

Postby Quinn » Fri Apr 30, 2010 10:05 am

I have a nearly new (one month riding time) set of IRC GP1 tires for sale. The front is a 3.00 x 21 and the rear is a 4.50 x 17. I usually run more aggressive tires and bought these thinking I would use them in the winter months when I do more street than dirt. I found that switching back and forth to be a bigger hassle then I want to do on a regular basis. I have forgotten how much I paid for them but I think it was around $100 for the set. I would sell them for $65 if anyone is interrested.
Beware the man who rides only one motorcycle, he's probably pretty good at it.

06 DR650. Handled great on the road, pretty good on the dry firm dirt, and as you might expect fair to poor in the deep loose dirt or mud (compared to a knobby).

I will ask around and see if anyone needs tires. I just got a new set last week... I do miss the knobbies on the dirt.

I figured it might be hard to get rid of the 4.50 x 17 rear. Most smaller dual sports are running the 18 inch rear I guess, and most bigger dual sports are running a fatter 17 rear than the 4.50. There are a few motards I have seen that run a 4.50 or so rear DOT knobby on their 17" front rim for dirt road applications but they are pretty rare. The IRCs are said to be stickier and more stable in the asphalt twisties than the Kendas that are a similar tread pattern.
