Ride to Georgetown and to the top of Saxon Mt.

Postby jcbikes » Tue Jul 27, 2010 7:12 pm

Had a great ride today. Would of liked to have someone to ride with but it was a last minute decision to go this morning. Rode the frontage roads to Georgetown along I-70. Tried to get up Guenalla Pass to Waldorf road but was closed right at the base of Georgetown for road work. It opens and closes every two hours and I did not want to wait an hour so i headed down to the lake area along I-70 and then up the 4x4 road to the top of Saxon Mt. Its the big one that over looks the Lakes and has the power lines running up it on the west side. Just about at tree line at the top.
Here are some pics.

Great pics John..........I'll have to get up there and do another ride with you one of these days. We've been riding mostly out of Monument and exploring Rainbow Falls and 717 areas.

Eric,
Sounds good. let me know when you can get off during the week and I can show you some great trails. Their is a lot around the Georgetown area but some of them I do not want to do alone because of the remoteness and one bad fall could ruin your day or maybe even more if your out by yourself. We have some fantastic riding up high and it will not be long before the snow will be flying up there.

jcbikes,
Great pics. I would like to explore that area some more this year myself.
Beware the man who rides only one motorcycle, he's probably pretty good at it.
