Trails in the Ouray Area

Postby MotoTrails » Mon Jan 11, 2010 5:31 pm

I'm planning a trip to western Colorado in the Aug./Sept. timeframe for dual sport riding (450cc bike) on pass roads/trails out of Ouray. I'm interested in the following trails/passes and would appreciate any advice about them:

Cunningham Gulch & Stony Pass
Corkscrew Gulch Trail
Silverton to Lake Como Trail
Imogene Pass
Yankee Boy Basin Trail
Engineer Pass
California Gulch Trail
Cinnamon Pass

Thanks for your help.

I was thinking of doing a trip down that way myself. This is an ATV site but it has some really good info.

I am planning a one day dual sport ride out of Silverton on August 12. I have gotten info for an awesome loop from locals via ThumperTalk. It includes a lot of what is posted on the top of this thread, plus about 20 miles of single track in the Rio Grande National Forest.
I would really like to find a riding buddy for this, for safety sake, and also to share the adventure. I'm a competent and prepared rider, with 40+ years of off road experience, so I shouldn't hold anybody back.
If anyone is interested, please PM me or email me at tobyschw at americaOL dot com.
Thanks,
Toby
